Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)

ADHD is a neurodevelopmental disorder, characterised by difficulties with attention, hyperactivity and impulsivity. Difficulties often present in early childhood, but in some cases may not be apparent until middle or late childhood. ADHD is a lifelong condition, affecting both children, adolescents and adults. It can be managed using psychoeducation, environmental changes at home, school and in the workplace. In some cases, medication for ADHD is helpful. Although we do not offer medication appointments, we are happy to refer you to a prescribing clinician.

Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)

ASD is a neurodevelopmental disorder, characterised by difficulties with social and communication skills. Autistic people often have focussed interests and some sensory sensitivities. Difficulties often present in early childhood, though some people are able to ‘mask’ their difficulties, meaning problems do not present until middle childhood/adolescence or into adulthood. ASD is a lifelong condition, affecting both children, adolescents and adults. Autistic people can be supported through psychoeducation, environmental changes at home, school and in the workplace and treatment of co-occuring mental health difficulties.
